Graeme Smith said India’s role in shaping SA20’s rise is now central to the league’s identity, as South Africa’s premier T20 competition intensified its outreach in Mumbai through ‘SA20 India Day 2025’.

The event, positioned as a strategic bridge to Season 4 from December 26 to January 25, 2026, marked one of the league’s most direct attempts yet to strengthen its footprint in the Indian market.

Hosted in Mumbai, the showcase featured Smith alongside senior South African names Faf du Plessis, David Miller, Tom Moody, Hashim Amla and Mark Boucher. Tristan Stubbs, Adrian Birrell and Sourav Ganguly, associated with the Pretoria Capitals, joined via video.
