BERWICK, La. (WAFB) - A second escaped inmate has been taken back into custody after breaking out of the Berwick Police Department Jail.
According to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office, Cecil Michael Stratton was found lying in a boat at a business on Highway 182 in Morgan City. Investigators said a complaint came in that he had been seen inside a home, leading to a multi-agency search and his recapture early Saturday morning, November 15.
“The teamwork between agencies and the relentless manhours invested into locating and apprehending Cecil Stratton have paid off,” St. Mary Parish Sheriff Gary Driskell said. “I would like to thank the men and women of all the agencies involved for the teamwork they have displayed over the past three days.”
