WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A water main break in Luzerne County disrupted service to dozens Saturday as crews worked to repair the damage.
A 10-inch main broke during the early morning on the 100 block of Miller Street in Wilkes-Barre. Pennsylvania American Water sent out an alert regarding the main break at 6 a.m.
The break caused a water disruption for approximately 100 Pennsylvania American Water customers in nearby Plains Twp., Susan Turcmanovich, a spokesperson for the water utility, said. A water company map showed the impact centered mainly on the township's the Miners' Mills neighborhood. Water pressure seemed to flow fine on the Wilkes-Barre side, customers showed Newswatch 16.
Turcmanovich said that crews expect to have the break repaired by Saturday evening.
