The Tripura Police arrested a man after a factory-made pistol, a magazine, four live ammunition and some contraband items were seized from his home near the Srimantapur border in Sepahijala district on Saturday.
The arrestee has been identified as Babul Miah, 49. The raid at his residence was jointly conducted by personnel from Sonamura police station and Srimantapur border outpost (BOP) of the Border Security Force (BSF).
The police have also detained Khursheda Begum, 27, the wife of Babul Miah, for interrogation in connection with the case.
