The Niagara Falls Lions Club launched its annual Christmas tree sales campaign Saturday and eager customers were out early to snag that perfect tree.
The 103-year-old service club has been selling Christmas trees at its Drummond Road clubhouse for more than 50 years.
“We’ve seen great-grandparents, grandparents, parents and now the grandchildren are grown up and coming and getting their tree,” said Jan Kilty, past president and current hall, building and fundraising chairwoman of the Niagara Falls Lion’s Club.
“We see a lot of the same families year after year.”
This year’s crop includes 400 Fraser firs, ranging between six and eight-feet tall, as well as small tabletop trees.
“The tabletop trees were really popular last year,” Kilty said.
