The train crew member who was seriously injured while protecting passengers during a mass stabbing in Cambridgeshire has been discharged from hospital. Samir Zitouni, 48, was in a critical condition having suffered multiple injuries during the major incident on November 1.

Samir, known as Sam, was working on board the London North Eastern Railway (LNER) train from Doncaster to London when the attack happened in Cambridgeshire earlier this month. He has been credited with helping to save multiple lives after passengers came under threat.
