INDIANAPOLIS — A 64-year-old man was arrested for his alleged role in a deadly double shooting on the near south side of Indianapolis Saturday afternoon.

According to IMPD, just before 12:30 p.m. Nov. 15, officers responded to a report of a person shot at a home in the 1700 block of Union Street , near East Minnesota and South Pennsylvania streets.

When officers arrived, they said they found a man and a woman had been shot. IMPD says the man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, while the woman was reported to be in "serious but stable" condition.

Shortly after arriving at the hospital, IMPD says the man was pronounced dead.

IMPD said detectives arrested a 64-year-old man and preliminarily charged him with murder and attempted murder.
