University of Canberra staff grapple with fewer staff and increased competition in the capital.

Since the job cuts , engagement specialist Bethany Lincoln said her job has changed and its responsibilities have increased.

Previously, her role was exclusively cybersecurity education, but she has since taken on more responsibility including vendor management, products and external engagements.

"That's been quite a big shift in terms of the scope of what I'm now required to do," Ms Lincoln said.

University of Canberra has started partnership with the Canberra Institute of Technology , Deloitte and McDonald's to encourage more micro credentials, recognition of prior learning and on-the-job training.

Ms Lincoln said university staff are on a tight timeframe to deliver change.
