HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI — Jerome County Market opened Saturday with its annual buck pole on opening day of Michigan firearm deer hunting season.

Jeff Grubb of Allen, feeling lucky this year, was among the early hunters to arrive at the market, on U.S. 12 in Moscow Township, with a deer.
