HILLSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) - A large brush fire was contained in Hillsville Friday, November 14, according to Hillsville Fire Department.

Firefighters responded at 5:36 p.m. to Cavalier Dr near the intersection of Freemont Road, where a controlled burn spread to a four acre brush fire.

It took several hours to contain the fire, according to firefighters.

Laurel Fork Fire, Galax Fire, Barren Springs Fire, Carroll County Fire & Rescue, Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, and the VA Department of Forestry assisted with the call.
