Texas A&M head football coach Mike Elko has agreed to a massive contract extension that will make him among the Top 5 highest-paid coaches in college football, according to multiple reports .
Billy Liucci of TexAgs.com is reporting that Elko’s new deal runs through 2031 and will pay him $11.5 million per season. That lifts Elko — who previously earned $7 million per year — above the likes of Alabama’s Kalen DeBoer ($10.25 million) and Texas’ Steve Sarkisian ($10.8 million), and behind only Georgia’s Kirby Smart ($13.3 million) in the SEC according to USA Today’s college football head coaches salary database .
