ELLSWORTH, Maine — The city of Ellsworth confirmed its councilors Friday following a recount process of its Nov. 4 municipal election due to concerns the ballots were inadvertently mixed in with state ballots.
No municipal ballots were found in the state ballots, according to a news release from the city. Election staff also examined every municipal ballot across Ellsworth's four districts.
The recount confirmed Patrick Shea, Carol Patterson-Martineau, and Marinna Smith have been elected to the three open seats on the city council, according to the release.
