A man from Guatemala recently pleaded guilty in federal court to assaulting officers during an immigration arrest in Marlborough in May, according to the Massachusetts U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Guido Andres Cuellar Batres , 24, was accused of biting, kicking and hitting federal law enforcement officers when he was taken into custody in the spring. He pleaded guilty Oct. 30 to forcibly assaulting, resisting, opposing, impeding, intimidating, or interfering with federal officers engaged in the performance of official duties, the Massachusetts U.S. Attorney’s Office wrote in a press release not made public until Nov. 13, after the federal government reopened from a 43-day shutdown .
