Srinagar, Nov 15:Director General of Police NalinPrabhat on Saturday confirmed that nine people were killed and 32 others injured in an accidental explosion that rocked the Nowgam Police Station on the outskirts of Srinagar late Friday evening.

Addressing a press conference at the Police Control Room in Srinagar, the DGP attributed the blast to the “unstable and sensitive nature” of a large cache of explosive substances being handled by forensic teams.

He said the material had been seized earlier this week during raids connected to a major inter-state terror module.
