Sir Billy Connolly made a rare public outing this weekend, appearing at a Florida film festival in a poignant moment where he received recognition for his artistic excellence.
The 82 year old comic seldom ventures out publicly following his Parkinson's disease diagnosis, but ventured from his Florida residence to attend the neighbouring Key West Film Festival as the special guest.
During the event, Billy, renowned for performances in productions such as Mrs Brown and Brave, was presented with an artistic excellence award by longtime pals Steve Buscemi and Aidan Quinn.
The comedian relied on a walking stick for support throughout the festival proceedings. Wearing navy tailored trousers paired with a black jacket, he rose to his feet as Buscemi handed over the accolade.
