BORDENTOWN — Marissa Buck had every reason to think that her dream wouldn't come true. When a freak collision in the first game of the season left her with a broken left arm, thoughts of standing behind the Clearview defense for a third straight NJSIAA Group 3 field hockey championship were in jeopardy.

"I was devastated," Buck said. "I found out that I was going to be out for about four to five weeks. It was senior year. I've been looking forward to this. I looked forward to this since I stepped on the field my freshman year. I mean, it (stinks). I think anyone would be upset about that."

She needn't have worried.

Buck made 11 saves and the offense did just enough as Clearview beat North Hunterdon 2-1 to win their third Group 3 title in a row and fourth overall.
