RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - A Midlands crime spree ended with one suspect in custody on Saturday morning, according to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department.
Richland County deputies say 32-year-old Steven Townsend carjacked the driver of a Lexus at gunpoint on the 200 block of Blythewood Road around 7 a.m.
Deputies found the Lexus, abandoned and disabled near the 1600 block of Beltline Boulevard, learning that Townsend had already fled.
Investigators say Townsend then stole a second vehicle, a Ford Escape, before Orangeburg County deputies later found him in a third stolen car around 9:30 a.m.
According to RCSD, Townsend ran and was involved in a shooting before being airlifted to a Midlands hospital.
