RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities have made an arrest following a disturbance at an area church in October that has caught the attention of the greater community in recent weeks.

The Richland County Sheriff's Department said the incident happened at Turning Point Church on Oct. 16. Witnesses told investigators that the suspect, later identified as 32-year-old Robert Pack, made threatening statements after being allowed inside.

News19 previously reported that the suspect banged on the sanctuary door and became agitated, cursing at the pastor. Church members eventually escorted him out.

"These statements disturbed the church service, as well as caused congregants to feel unsafe," the sheriff's department said.
