MOUNT PLEASANT -- Brady Leonard wanted something different for his senior season.
After three years of running the show for the Portland St. Patrick football team at quarterback, Leonard wanted to fill a different role as a senior.
Leonard felt he could best help the Shamrocks playing running back and knew there was a very capable option at quarterback in Jerryd Scheurer. He also knew a move off quarterback would allow him more opportunities on defense.
"He came and talked and wanted to do something a little different this year so I listened to him," Portland St. Patrick coach Pat Russman said. "Jerryd Scheurer just stepped in and has done an amazing job for us at quarterback and its allowed Brady and them to do a few more things on defense then typically I would let quarterbacks do."
