In the past decade, Matt Smith has shapeshifted his way through some of the biggest roles on the small screen — looking entirely different in each one.

Not necessarily in a physical sense — he has those same sunken eyes, the same pinched features, the same indescribable sense of presence (hotness?) in each project — but he’s somehow able to inhabit every new role so thoroughly, you forget you just saw him playing, say, the Queen’s husband, the time-travelling Doctor, or a charismatic white-haired dragon rider.
