EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — Empty Bowls Evansville made a successful return with a fundraising event at Barker Brewhouse on Saturday, November 15, aimed at supporting local veterans.
The event, held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., offered attendees a handmade ceramic bowl and soup for a $20 donation. The bowls were crafted by students from the University of Southern Indiana Ceramics under the guidance of Professor of Art Al Holen.
"Empty Bowls is an international project to fight hunger," said Holen. The event raised funds for the Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program, continuing the organization's mission to assist Evansville's undernourished veterans.
The previous event saw the bowls sell out in just 45 minutes, indicating strong community support for the cause.
