Torrance Lovesee said one of her goals when she arrived at the UTEP volleyball program five years ago was to leave a still middling, but improving program, better than she found it.

She, and four other seniors who coach Ben Wallis described as the Mount Rushmore of UTEP volleyball, will leave as Conference USA champions.

With 2,044 fans in Memorial Gym roaring their approval for all that the Miners have built since Wallis' arrival in 2019, UTEP completed a sweep of Florida International, 25-21, 25-23, 23-17, to claim their first-ever CUSA championship.
