LAFAYETTE — St. Scholastica created a bit of tension in the volleyball state finals when it pushed dominant reigning champion St. Thomas More to a fourth set — something it had not done in other recent postseason meetings.
Only after the teams played through 16 ties and seven lead changes in the fourth set did St. Thomas More win a fifth consecutive state championship with a 25-14, 25-17, 22-25, 26-24 victory in the LHSAA Division II final Saturday at the Cajundome.
