YORK — There weren’t many tears, if any. Instead, there were smiles and excitement for the future.
It wasn’t York Catholic’s day on Saturday. The Fighting Irish trailed 24-7 to District 12 champion Belmont Charter through the first quarter and never led once, despite pulling within 10 in the fourth. It culminated in a 36-20 defeat in the first round of the PIAA Class 1A football tournament at York Catholic Stadium.
