Lindsay Armstrong was just 17 when she took her own life in 2002 after giving evidence against the 15-year-old boy who raped her.
It came after she was utterly humiliated in the witness box during which she was disgracefully made to hold up the underwear she had on when attacked.
The shocking case rightly prompted calls for changes to the way rape victims are treated and since then there has been slow progress towards better protection for victims.
But following a landmark UK Supreme Court ruling last week, it could be that some of these protections are set to be rolled back.
Judges rejected appeals by rapists David Daly and Andrew Keir, but ruled that “rape shield” laws should be relaxed.
They warned that excluding evidence about a complainer’s credibility
