At 12:19 a.m. on Sunday, the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory valid from 10 a.m. until Monday 1 p.m. for Potter and Cameron counties.
"Total snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph," can be expected according to the weather service. "Drifting snow may quickly cover roads that had been cleared."
"Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches and make visibility extremely poor," explains the weather service. "During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow to dry weather just a few miles away. Visibilities can also vary greatly. Be prepared for rapid changes in weather, visibility, and road conditions."
