On Sunday at 12:37 a.m. a winter weather advisory was released by the National Weather Service valid from 10 a.m. until Monday 1 p.m. for Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties.

The weather service adds to prepare for, "Total snow accumulations 4 to 7 inches in the most persistent lake snows across the higher terrain inland from Lake Erie. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph will produce blowing and drifting snow."

"Travel will be difficult with snow covered roads and poor visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning commute," comments the weather service. "During lake effect snow, the weather can vary from bands of locally heavy snow with greatly reduced visibilities to dry conditions just a few miles away.
