A woman and her five daughters, including a 15-day-old infant, were rescued and relocated to a shelter home in Dhenkanal district after her husband allegedly assaulted and expelled her for not giving birth to a son.
According to sources, the incident took place in Muruga village under Bhuban block, prompting intervention from human rights activists and renewed scrutiny of previous complaints filed with local police.
Woman Driven Out Of Home
Reports from Bhuban stated that the victim was allegedly forced out of her home late Friday night along with her five daughters. With no alternative shelter, she took refuge at the veranda of the Bhuban Community Health Centre (CHC), where health staff noticed the family during routine rounds.
