HOLLAND, Mich. — A Saturday night argument inside a Holland Township business escalated into gunfire, leaving one man injured and shutting down a busy road for hours.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says the incident began around 9 p.m. inside a business on Douglas Avenue, where an argument turned physical. Several people then moved outside to the parking lot, and that’s when deputies say a man pulled out a gun and started shooting.
The victim -- a 27-year-old man from Jenison -- was hit and later driven by a friend to Holland Community Hospital. He’s expected to recover from non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators say the gunfire also struck several parked cars as the victim and others ran across Douglas Avenue to escape.
