EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH, La. (WAFB) - A man has been arrested after allegedly never performing construction work he was paid thousands of dollars to complete, authorities said.
Donald Davis, 55, is charged with one count of residential contractor fraud.
According to an arrest report, a victim paid Davis $11,600 in December of 2022 to do roofing work at a camp. The victim said the money was paid through three separate checks.
Deputies said that after Davis received the money, he allegedly failed to complete any of the construction work and would no longer return the victim’s phone calls.
The victim provided investigators with copies of the checks that were issued to Davis along with photographs showing that work on the camp’s roof was never completed, the arrest report stated. Authoriti
