The North Pole City Council will take up a set of ordinances on Monday that could reorder council meetings and expand meeting records, including how minutes and audio recordings are kept and rearranging the order of the agenda.
The ordinances were co-sponsored by Councilmembers David Brandt and Sandra Rolfe, who was recently elected.
Citizen’s engagement
Ordinance 2025-18 would amend the council meeting order of business. Those changes include moving the citizens’ comments period to the start of the meeting, ahead of the agenda approval and communications from the mayor and it would remove the option for the mayor to participate in council comments at the meeting’s end.
