WASHINGTON (Gray DC) - The federal government is now back open following the longest shutdown in history. Congress is returning to Washington for the House’s first full work week since September.
On the agenda is a vote to force the U.S. Department of Justice to release the full Epstein files.
It comes after Arizona Democrat Adelita Grijalva (D-Ariz.) became the 218 th member to sign the discharge petition last week immediately after she was sworn in. That now forces the full House to vote on the measure, despite Speaker Mike Johnson resisting bringing it to the floor.
The measure is expected to pass with bipartisan support, even with reported opposition from President Donald Trump.
