Two men have been seriously hurt, a boy is in hospital, and another man will face court after what police describe as an alleged road rage hit and run on the New South Wales Mid North Coast.

Two men and a teenage boy were driving north in a sedan along The Lakes Way, Darawank, about 10km from Forster, at about 5pm yesterday.

Police allege they had an argument with the driver of a ute, also travelling north.

The ute driver is then alleged to have deliberately rammed the sedan, prompting the two men in the sedan to get out.

The ute driver allegedly ran them both over.

Police will allege that when the boy ran to help, the ute driver punched him in the face before driving away.

A 56-year-old man was airlifted to hospital with pelvic fractures and head injuries.
