David Templeton believes Rangers should make captain James Tavernier an offer to stay at Ibrox.
The Gers skipper is in the last year of his contract, which is set to expire next summer.
Tavernier has given 10 years of service to the club and could be on his way out.
But former Ibrox team-mate Tempelton says new boss Danny Rohl should be looking to keep him in Glasgow.
He feels Rangers are lacking experienced leaders in the dressing-room so it would be a mistake to let Tavernier go.
Templeton told Record Sport : “The club don’t have a lot of players now with experience of being at Rangers.
“So they need guys like Tav to guide new ones or younger ones.
“He knows what the club is about so if Rohl is going to bring more in, he can let them know.
