CLEVELAND, Ohio - Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar announced Sunday that he may receive a life-saving liver transplant after spending the past week hospitalized with internal bleeding.
The 61-year-old shared the update in a video from University Hospitals, where he has undergone five surgical procedures since Tuesday to control bleeding that doctors have struggled to stop.
“I’m super excited slash a little anxious now because I’m about to get the word that it really looks like the reality of the potential of having a liver transplant on Sunday game day,” Kosar said in the social media post .
The potential transplant comes after a difficult week, according to WKYC .
