FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A teen is in the hospital tonight after a stabbing at a West Central Fresno park.

Police say the incident happened around 2 p.m. at the Jaswant Singh Khalra Neighborhood Park near Clinton and Brawley.

Officers were called out for what started as a verbal argument between two groups of teens but things quickly got physical.

According to investigators, one teen pulled out a knife and stabbed another multiple times in the upper torso.

The victim was taken to Community Regional Medical Center and is expected to survive.

The suspect has since been arrested.
