New York — A mere 24 hours after a discouraging loss, the Red Wings put together a quality victory at Madison Square Garden.
Lucas Raymond scored his fifth goal, at 16 minutes 13 seconds of the third period, breaking a tie and sending the Wings to a 2-1 victory.
Raymond carried the puck into the zone, wheeled around the net, and was given all sorts of room by Rangers defenders, sliding into the slot and whistling a shot past goaltender Jonathan Quick.
The Wings moved to 11-7-1 and in the bunched-up standings of the Atlantic Division this early in the season, slid into second place.
