CINCINNATI (WXIX) - Police are investigating after the Cincinnati Fire Department discovered a body while extinguishing a brush fire.

The Cincinnati Police Department is investigating a body found while the CFD was extinguishing a “small fire in the brush” behind a garage in Clifton.

CFD responded to the call around 7:49 p.m. Sunday.

Six firefighters responded and, upon putting out the flames, found a body near the area on fire, CFD reports.

Firefighters say the body also had significant burns.

The CFD Fire Investigative Unit and the Cincinnati Police Department Homicide Unit are investigating, with CPD taking lead.
