Atlassian has defended activist billionaire CEO Mike Cannon-Brookes' purchase of a private jet, after the company overshot its business travel emissions target by 160 per cent.
The company on Monday shared its sustainability report, where the $60b company confirmed it had missed its ambitious business travel emissions target.
It vowed in 2019 to slash corporate travel emissions 25 per cent by the 2025 financial year.
However, the figure rose by 135 per cent.
“The hard, ‘open company, no bulls***’ truth is that business travel emissions increased 135 per cent compared to our fiscal year 2019 baseline,” Atlassian’s report said.
“This is largely due to company growth, with a 282 per cent increase in headcount over that period.”
It comes after Atlassian’s CEO Mike Cannon-Brookes purchas
