SRINAGAR, Nov 17: Locals in Assam’s Tinsukia district on Monday detained 44 individuals from Jammu and Kashmir after noticing them moving around the Tinsukia Railway Station and finding their presence “suspicious” in the wake of the recent Delhi blast. The group was later handed over to the Railway Police Force (RPF) for verification.
According to locals, the men had been brought by a contractor for work in Arunachal Pradesh. “The group appeared suspicious to them in the backdrop of the recent blast in Delhi. We handed them over to Railway Police for verification,” locals told a section of the media.
The detained individuals, however, said they were wage labourers who had travelled for transmission line work, adding that most of them were from Doda and Kishtwar districts of Jammu and Kas
