A man was taken to hospital after trouble broke out in a Birmingham retail unit car park.

The emergency services, including armed officers, were called to John Kempe Way, off Highgate Middleway, at around 1am yesterday, Sunday, November 16, following reports of fighting.

The area, which has a number of large retail outlets, was cordoned off while West Midlands Police investigated.

An injured man was treated taken to hospital and his injuries were not said to be life-threatening.

Images taken from the scene showed a number of damaged cars with smashed windscreens.
