MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Gov. Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation announced Monday, Nov. 17 that 26 locations will receive grant awards totaling $14 million in federal funding to build electric vehicle charging stations across Wisconsin.

The funding comes through the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The charging stations will be built along Wisconsin's Alternative Fuel Corridor to support the more than 37,000 electric vehicles registered in the state, as well as travelers and visitors, according to the governor's office.
