DEDHAM, Mass. —

Brian Walshe, the Massachusetts man accused of killing and dismembering his wife in 2023, is expected to return to court on Monday for the final hearing before the start of his trial.

Last week, Judge Diane Freniere ordered that the trial proceed after a doctor who examined Brian Walshe at Bridgewater State Hospital reported the defendant was competent to stand trial. Jury selection is expected to commence on Tuesday.

The Cohasset father is accused of killing and dismembering his wife, 39-year-old Ana Walshe, around New Year's Day in 2023. He faces charges of murder, misleading a police investigation and improper conveyance of a human body.

Also on Friday, the judge denied the defense's motion for a change of venue in the case.
