STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — When Purdue University’s basketball program was evaluating Liam Murphy of West Brighton, they discovered something far more valuable than his 6 foot, 7 inch frame or dead-eye shooting.
According to the personality assessment that has become a key component of the Boilermakers’ recruiting strategy, Murphy scored a perfect 100 out of 100 in “intellectual curiosity” — a trait that connects directly to the team’s cerebral head coach and system-oriented approach.
Chad Brown, CEO of Profile , the company that provides personality assessments to Purdue’s basketball program, revealed this surprising insight during a recent episode of “The West Brighton Boilermaker,” an Advance/SILive.com documentary series chronicling Murphy.
