STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- More than 3,900 single-family homes were sold on Staten Island over the past year, but the real estate market was much hotter in some neighborhoods than in others.
Over the past 12 months, there were 3,918 one-family dwellings sold across Staten Island, according to New York City Department of Finance (DOF) data.
Great Kills had, by far, the highest number of single-family homes sold of any neighborhood, with 429, representing 10.9% of all such sales across the borough.
Eltingville placed second, with 247, followed by Arden Heights, Westerleigh and Midland Beach, which had 187, 140 and 135, respectively.
Bloomfield saw the least sales with just one, followed by Dongan Hills-Old Town, Rossville-Richmond Valley, Richmondtown-Lighthouse Hill and Port Ivory, which h
