Srinagar ~ General Manager Northern Railway Ashok Kumar Verma on Monday carried out a comprehensive inspection of the Srinagar–Baramulla rail section of the Udhampur–Srinagar–Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, assessing progress on ongoing works, safety readiness and passenger amenities.

Accompanied by Jammu Divisional Railway Manager Vivek Kumar and senior divisional officials, Verma inspected nearly the entire 60-km stretch, reviewing station infrastructure, operational systems and overall maintenance standards. Officials said he stressed strict adherence to safety protocols and quality control across all works on the key national project.

The GM also inspected the goods shed at Anantnag Railway Station, a major freight handling point in the Valley.
