The Discovery Shoppe has generously donated funds to support the 530 Food Rescue Coalition. 530FRC works to keep good food from going to waste by providing free transportation of unsold food from local food businesses throughout Butte County to those in need. The Discovery Shoppe’s donation will help 530FRC purchase reusable grocery bags for food rescues and branded hats and shirts for their volunteer “Food Rescue Heroes.” These volunteers complete an impressive 94% of the organization’s rescues each year. Since its founding on January 1, 2022, 530FRC has grown to 200 active volunteers and has completed more than 5,000 food rescues, making a real impact in our community.
