A driver is seeking compensation after the spoiler on his Land Rover Discovery was 'ripped off' in a Redcar car wash. Robert Campbell was left facing a bill of almost £1,500 for repairs after running his vehicle through the Motor Fuel Group (MFG) car wash.

Pictures show the spoiler was detached from the rear of the car, which Mr Campbell says was caused in the car wash, in the alleged incident at lunchtime on November 6, leaving a hole in the boot. He said since posting the images on social media, he has been contacted by a man who experienced a similar issue at the same location in August.

In a letter, MFG refused to accept liability quoting a disclaimer notice displayed at the entrance to the machine at Morrisons petrol station on Wilmore Road, which states "no spoilers" are allowed.
