An NYPD officer was shot Monday morning in Brooklyn, Mayor Eric Adams said.
The FDNY said a call came in at 7:45 a.m. reporting a shooting on Thomas S. Boyland Street, between Hegeman Avenue and Linden Boulevard, in the Brownsville section of the borough.
Adams said he was briefed on the situation, confirming an NYPD officer was shot during the incident.
“We will continue to monitor the situation,” he wrote on social media.
First Deputy Mayor Randy Mastro is on his way to the hospital, the mayor added.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting, including the officer’s condition and whether any suspects are in custody, were not immediately available.
