Calls to address the widening gap in property taxes and business attraction between the City of Edmonton and the surrounding communities are coming from both inside and outside the house, with one councillor presenting some outside-the-box ideas to help ease the city’s fiscal woes.
Ward Dene Coun. Aaron Paquette unveiled his “money plan” at the Building Owners and Managers Association of Edmonton (BOMA) annual general meeting on Nov. 4. Speaking with Postmedia, he outlined his long-term plan on how to bring more businesses within the city and curb property tax growth.
